a christmas photoshoot.

"The mood is right
The spirits up
We're here tonight
And that's enough..."

Last week I did a photo shoot. I had originally planned a Christmas photo shoot with a friend of mine, I had some really fun ideas... but unfortunately that didn't end up working out, so I had to settle on a more simple, self photo shoot.

I know none of these really follow the rule of thirds, but, I can't really help it when I'm doing self photo shoots.

Anyway, here are the photos.

I jumped off that ladder so.many.times. And still never got my ideal shot. But, I do like this one pretty well. I like the way my feet are positioned. And I like that my head is a bit out of the frame.

I just wish I had snow... but, what can I say, it's Texas...

I really hope you guys liked these photos. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the photos! And which one/s is your favorite.

I wish you all a *very* merry Christmas.

  1. I just have to say, WOW! Those are some radiant photos and I adore your use of color. I've noticed that you love the use of reds in your photo sessions. ;) I also really enjoy your use of imagination in your photography. Very story-bookish! hehe! That second picture of you holding onto the branches might be my favorite. I love the angle of it, the popping reds, and your focused gaze. Lovely! It looks like something one would find in a magazine. :)
    Excellent work!

  4. Part of the reason these are so cool is because they don't follow the rule of thirds.

  5. ya know how people are always saying to shoot a story...This one looks like you were having fun decorating the outside :) I like this series b/c it's like a part of Christmas that no one ever takes pictures of-the pretty outside :) Great job on the jumping picture. I can't imagine trying to do that with a self timer! I think my fav. is the next to last.

  6. hey, thanks SOOO much for your lovely comment! I'm really happy and excited about my new camera, I just got it today!! just in time for Christmas right?! :) I decided it would be a 'he' since it's blue, you know, so far the only name I came up with was Bluey. hah hope to think about a better one for 'him' later. :) and thanks SOO much for your help!! it means a lot, and it's needed!! it is very confusing! so my biggest question it's what ISO, I kinda understand shutter and aperture, but ISO gets me confuse! hah thanks SO much againg! :) and WOW, what an amazing and lovely pictures! the colors are gorgeous! and so are you! :) Merry Christmas, dear!
